Question 1

Was $4,525 a good price for this 2011 BMW M3?

Accepted Answer

30 comparable 2011 BMW M3 listings sold at auction for a median of $8,150, spanning $5,400 to $14,275. At $4,525 this one went 44% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This BMW M3 sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW M3 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2011 BMW M3's pre-damage retail value at $25,481. It sold for $4,525 — 82% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a bill of sale (washington) mean for this BMW M3?

Accepted Answer

This 2011 BMW M3 was sold on a bill of sale (washington). The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Question 5

This BMW M3 has front end and mechanical damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 168,297 miles high for a 2011 BMW M3?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2011 BMW M3 listings at auction averaged 114,492 miles across 30 sales, so at 168,297 miles this one sits 47% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
