Question 1

What do rear end 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 133 recorded sales of the 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS with rear end damage, the median was $9,000, from $4,800 to $12,200. That is 19% above the $7,550 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $6,600 a good price for this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

1987 comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings sold at auction for a median of $7,550, spanning $4,150 to $11,700. At $6,600 this one went 13% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS's pre-damage retail value at $19,612. It sold for $6,600 — 66% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in FL - FT. PIERCE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Jacksonville, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 149,051 miles high for a 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings at auction averaged 91,607 miles across 1987 sales, so at 149,051 miles this one sits 63% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
