Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2018 BMW M5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 16 recorded sales of the 2018 BMW M5 with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $16,000, from $10,100 to $20,500. That is 19% above the $13,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $16,900 a good price for this 2018 BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

198 comparable 2018 BMW M5 listings sold at auction for a median of $13,500, spanning $5,700 to $24,400. At $16,900 this one went 25% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a clean title mean for this BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 BMW M5 was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 BMW M5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this BMW M5 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CT - EAST GRANBY. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 120 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 78,099 miles high for a 2018 BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 BMW M5 listings at auction averaged 70,909 miles across 198 sales, so at 78,099 miles this one sits 10% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
