Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2018 BMW M5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 16 recorded sales of the 2018 BMW M5 with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $16,000, from $10,100 to $20,500. That is 18% above the $13,550 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $17,600 a good price for this 2018 BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

201 comparable 2018 BMW M5 listings sold at auction for a median of $13,550, spanning $5,700 to $24,150. At $17,600 this one went 30% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a certificate of title (p) mean for this BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 BMW M5 was sold on a certificate of title (p). The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Question 4

Is 81,345 miles high for a 2018 BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 BMW M5 listings at auction averaged 70,382 miles across 201 sales, so at 81,345 miles this one sits 16% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 BMW M5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

How far is this BMW M5 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CT - HARTFORD SPRINGFIELD. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 120 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
