Question 1

Was $9,600 a good price for this 2014 BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

14 comparable 2014 BMW M5 listings sold at auction for a median of $13,200, spanning $8,600 to $16,100. At $9,600 this one went 27% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

What does a cert of title-flood vehicle mean for this BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

This 2014 BMW M5 was sold on a cert of title-flood vehicle. The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Question 3

How far is this BMW M5 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in MI - DETROIT. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 550 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $475-$650, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2014 BMW M5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This BMW M5 has water/flood and mechanical damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 97,067 miles high for a 2014 BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2014 BMW M5 listings at auction averaged 93,070 miles across 14 sales, so at 97,067 miles this one sits 4% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
