Question 1

Was $34,000 a good price for this 2016 BMW M3?

Accepted Answer

120 comparable 2016 BMW M3 listings sold at auction for a median of $15,150, spanning $8,200 to $22,800. At $34,000 this one went 124% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

What does a certificate of title (p) mean for this BMW M3?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 BMW M3 was sold on a certificate of title (p). The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Question 3

How far is this BMW M3 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in AL - DOTHAN. The nearest major vehicle export port is New Orleans, roughly 350 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $300-$425, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

Is 84,236 miles high for a 2016 BMW M3?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 BMW M3 listings at auction averaged 76,490 miles across 120 sales, so at 84,236 miles this one sits 10% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 BMW M3. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Did this 2016 BMW M3 come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with normal wear damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.
