Was $18,325 a good price for this 2016 BMW M3?

120 comparable 2016 BMW M3 listings sold at auction for a median of $14,950, spanning $8,200 to $22,800. At $18,325 this one went 23% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW M3 sell for?

The insurer put this 2016 BMW M3's pre-damage retail value at $39,232. It sold for $18,325 — 53% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

What does a other (california) mean for this BMW M3?

This 2016 BMW M3 was sold on a other (california). The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Is 86,733 miles high for a 2016 BMW M3?

Comparable 2016 BMW M3 listings at auction averaged 77,515 miles across 120 sales, so at 86,733 miles this one sits 12% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

This BMW M3 has front end and left side damage — how does that affect it?

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Who sold this 2016 BMW M3?

The listing seller was Mercury Insurance. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.
