Question 1

Was $22,075 a good price for this 2016 BMW M3?

Accepted Answer

121 comparable 2016 BMW M3 listings sold at auction for a median of $15,050, spanning $8,200 to $22,400. At $22,075 this one went 47% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW M3 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 BMW M3's pre-damage retail value at $51,203. It sold for $22,075 — 57% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

What does "Starts" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

Starts is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 BMW M3. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 4

Is 62,908 miles high for a 2016 BMW M3?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 BMW M3 listings at auction averaged 76,993 miles across 121 sales, so at 62,908 miles this one sits 18% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

This BMW M3 has left rear and left side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Did this 2016 BMW M3 come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with left rear damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.
