Question 1

What do rear end 2017 BMW X5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 148 recorded sales of the 2017 BMW X5 with rear end damage, the median was $8,000, from $4,200 to $13,600. That is 10% above the $7,300 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,300 a good price for this 2017 BMW X5?

Accepted Answer

1758 comparable 2017 BMW X5 listings sold at auction for a median of $7,300, spanning $4,050 to $12,450. At $8,300 this one went 14% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW X5 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 BMW X5's pre-damage retail value at $28,974. It sold for $8,300 — 71% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a certificate of salvage mean for this BMW X5?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 BMW X5 was sold on a certificate of salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

Is 64,094 miles high for a 2017 BMW X5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 BMW X5 listings at auction averaged 105,844 miles across 1758 sales, so at 64,094 miles this one sits 39% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 BMW X5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
