Question 1

What does a clear mean for this BMW X5?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 BMW X5 was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 2

How far is this BMW X5 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in CA - LOS ANGELES. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 3

What does "NOT RUN" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

NOT RUN is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 BMW X5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 4

Is 146,470 miles high for a 2018 BMW X5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 BMW X5 listings at auction averaged 92,290 miles across 1629 sales, so at 146,470 miles this one sits 59% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Did this 2018 BMW X5 come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with theft damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN 5UXKS4C5XJ0Y20538?

Accepted Answer

5UXKS4C5XJ0Y20538 identifies this specific 2018 BMW X5 in white with a 3.0l i-6 di, dohc, vvt, turbo, 255hp engine, all wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.
