Was $5,400 a good price for this 2012 BMW X5?

39 comparable 2012 BMW X5 listings sold at auction for a median of $4,650, spanning $4,000 to $6,000. At $5,400 this one went 16% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW X5 sell for?

The insurer put this 2012 BMW X5's pre-damage retail value at $10,422. It sold for $5,400 — 48% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

What does a salvage vehicle title mean for this BMW X5?

This 2012 BMW X5 was sold on a salvage vehicle title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

How far is this BMW X5 from an export port?

The lot sat at COPART in TX - ANDREWS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

This BMW X5 has side and rear end damage — how does that affect it?

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Is 128,488 miles high for a 2012 BMW X5?

Comparable 2012 BMW X5 listings at auction averaged 124,713 miles across 39 sales, so at 128,488 miles this one sits 3% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
