Question 1

What do side 2017 BMW X5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 156 recorded sales of the 2017 BMW X5 with side damage, the median was $8,000, from $4,400 to $13,400. That is 10% above the $7,300 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $17,000 a good price for this 2017 BMW X5?

Accepted Answer

1771 comparable 2017 BMW X5 listings sold at auction for a median of $7,300, spanning $4,050 to $12,400. At $17,000 this one went 133% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a cert of title-salvage title mean for this BMW X5?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 BMW X5 was sold on a cert of title-salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

Is 84,023 miles high for a 2017 BMW X5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 BMW X5 listings at auction averaged 105,984 miles across 1771 sales, so at 84,023 miles this one sits 21% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

This BMW X5 has side and mechanical damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 BMW X5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
