Question 1

What does a clear mean for this BMW X5 M?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 BMW X5 M was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 2

How far is this BMW X5 M from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in PA - CONSHOHOCKEN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 150 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 3

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 BMW X5 M. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 4

Is 105,177 miles high for a 2016 BMW X5 M?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 BMW X5 M listings at auction averaged 120,754 miles across 25 sales, so at 105,177 miles this one sits 13% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Did this 2016 BMW X5 M come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with all over damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN 5YMKT6C56G0R78496?

Accepted Answer

5YMKT6C56G0R78496 identifies this specific 2016 BMW X5 M in black with a 4.4l v-8 di, dohc, vvt, turbo, 567hp engine, all wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.
