Question 1

What do side 2017 BMW X3 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 116 recorded sales of the 2017 BMW X3 with side damage, the median was $4,400, from $3,200 to $7,200. That is 2% above the $4,300 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,300 a good price for this 2017 BMW X3?

Accepted Answer

1157 comparable 2017 BMW X3 listings sold at auction for a median of $4,300, spanning $3,200 to $6,800. At $3,300 this one went 23% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW X3 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 BMW X3's pre-damage retail value at $12,637. It sold for $3,300 — 74% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 BMW X3. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This BMW X3 has side and front end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 79,440 miles high for a 2017 BMW X3?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 BMW X3 listings at auction averaged 91,462 miles across 1157 sales, so at 79,440 miles this one sits 13% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
