Question 1

Was $20,725 a good price for this 2020 BMW X3?

Accepted Answer

1288 comparable 2020 BMW X3 listings sold at auction for a median of $9,750, spanning $5,300 to $16,800. At $20,725 this one went 113% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This BMW X3 sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW X3 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2020 BMW X3's pre-damage retail value at $40,098. It sold for $20,725 — 48% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

This BMW X3 has unknown and damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

Who sold this 2020 BMW X3?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was Hanover Insurance. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.

Question 6

Can I buy this 2020 BMW X3 from AutoBidCar?

Accepted Answer

No. AutoBidCar is an archive of past auction listings, not a seller — we have never owned this vehicle. This 2020 BMW X3 was listed at IAAI as lot 37814406 and any sale happened there. We publish the record so buyers can research what comparable vehicles actually sold for.
