Question 1

Was $10,100 a good price for this 2014 BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

14 comparable 2014 BMW M5 listings sold at auction for a median of $13,200, spanning $8,600 to $16,100. At $10,100 this one went 23% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW M5 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2014 BMW M5's pre-damage retail value at $29,952. It sold for $10,100 — 66% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

What does "Run & Drive" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

Run & Drive is the auction's own condition note for this 2014 BMW M5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 4

This BMW M5 has front end and left & right side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

Is 115,536 miles high for a 2014 BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2014 BMW M5 listings at auction averaged 93,070 miles across 14 sales, so at 115,536 miles this one sits 24% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

Who sold this 2014 BMW M5?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was State Farm Group Insurance. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.
