Question 1

What do front end 2023 BMW 5ER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 215 recorded sales of the 2023 BMW 5ER with front end damage, the median was $18,300, from $9,000 to $26,000. That is 2% below the $18,750 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $20,200 a good price for this 2023 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

481 comparable 2023 BMW 5ER listings sold at auction for a median of $18,750, spanning $9,700 to $26,500. At $20,200 this one went 8% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This BMW 5ER sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How far is this BMW 5ER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in CA - LOS ANGELES. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a salvage mean for this BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

This 2023 BMW 5ER was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 20,896 miles high for a 2023 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 BMW 5ER listings at auction averaged 32,206 miles across 481 sales, so at 20,896 miles this one sits 35% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
