Question 1

What do rear 2018 BMW 5ER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 59 recorded sales of the 2018 BMW 5ER with rear damage, the median was $9,238, from $5,200 to $15,050. That is 10% above the $8,400 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $17,375 a good price for this 2018 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

1835 comparable 2018 BMW 5ER listings sold at auction for a median of $8,400, spanning $5,000 to $13,500. At $17,375 this one went 107% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a salvage mean for this BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 BMW 5ER was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

Is 40,894 miles high for a 2018 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 BMW 5ER listings at auction averaged 89,398 miles across 1835 sales, so at 40,894 miles this one sits 54% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

How far is this BMW 5ER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in ID - CHARLOTTE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Tacoma, roughly 500 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $425-$600, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 BMW 5ER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
