Question 1

What do mechanical 2018 BMW 5ER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 54 recorded sales of the 2018 BMW 5ER with mechanical damage, the median was $7,000, from $3,900 to $9,900. That is 17% below the $8,400 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $7,700 a good price for this 2018 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

1835 comparable 2018 BMW 5ER listings sold at auction for a median of $8,400, spanning $5,000 to $13,500. At $7,700 this one went 8% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a salvage mean for this BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 BMW 5ER was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 BMW 5ER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This BMW 5ER has mechanical and front end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 143,715 miles high for a 2018 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 BMW 5ER listings at auction averaged 89,398 miles across 1835 sales, so at 143,715 miles this one sits 61% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
