Question 1

What do rear end 2018 BMW 5ER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 159 recorded sales of the 2018 BMW 5ER with rear end damage, the median was $9,100, from $5,500 to $14,800. That is 7% above the $8,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $9,100 a good price for this 2018 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

1778 comparable 2018 BMW 5ER listings sold at auction for a median of $8,500, spanning $5,000 to $13,500. At $9,100 this one went 7% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW 5ER sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 BMW 5ER's pre-damage retail value at $21,547. It sold for $9,100 — 58% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

This BMW 5ER has rear end and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 BMW 5ER was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 36,970 miles high for a 2018 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 BMW 5ER listings at auction averaged 88,924 miles across 1778 sales, so at 36,970 miles this one sits 58% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
