Question 1

What do front end 2017 BMW 5ER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 480 recorded sales of the 2017 BMW 5ER with front end damage, the median was $8,000, from $4,300 to $13,000. That is level with the $8,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $7,300 a good price for this 2017 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

1022 comparable 2017 BMW 5ER listings sold at auction for a median of $8,000, spanning $4,550 to $13,000. At $7,300 this one went 9% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This BMW 5ER sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

What does "NOT RUN" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

NOT RUN is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 BMW 5ER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 70,147 miles high for a 2017 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 BMW 5ER listings at auction averaged 95,555 miles across 1022 sales, so at 70,147 miles this one sits 27% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does a salvage mean for this BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 BMW 5ER was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.
