Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2017 BMW 5ER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 66 recorded sales of the 2017 BMW 5ER with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $8,000, from $5,700 to $11,500. That is 2% below the $8,200 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $12,600 a good price for this 2017 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

965 comparable 2017 BMW 5ER listings sold at auction for a median of $8,200, spanning $4,575 to $13,000. At $12,600 this one went 54% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a clean title mean for this BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 BMW 5ER was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 BMW 5ER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This BMW 5ER has minor dent/scratches and normal wear damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 171,796 miles high for a 2017 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 BMW 5ER listings at auction averaged 95,037 miles across 965 sales, so at 171,796 miles this one sits 81% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
