Question 1

What do mechanical 2017 BMW 5ER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 28 recorded sales of the 2017 BMW 5ER with mechanical damage, the median was $7,500, from $4,100 to $11,400. That is 7% below the $8,075 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $7,300 a good price for this 2017 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

994 comparable 2017 BMW 5ER listings sold at auction for a median of $8,075, spanning $4,550 to $13,100. At $7,300 this one went 10% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW 5ER sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 BMW 5ER's pre-damage retail value at $17,068. It sold for $7,300 — 57% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a clean title mean for this BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 BMW 5ER was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 5

Is 117,989 miles high for a 2017 BMW 5ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 BMW 5ER listings at auction averaged 95,239 miles across 994 sales, so at 117,989 miles this one sits 24% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this BMW 5ER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - FRESNO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
