What do undercarriage 2017 BMW 5 SERIES models sell for?

Across 20 recorded sales of the 2017 BMW 5 SERIES with undercarriage damage, the median was $8,950, from $4,500 to $14,500. That is 11% above the $8,075 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Was $4,500 a good price for this 2017 BMW 5 SERIES?

1006 comparable 2017 BMW 5 SERIES listings sold at auction for a median of $8,075, spanning $4,575 to $13,000. At $4,500 this one went 44% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

What does a parts only-ny mean for this BMW 5 SERIES?

This 2017 BMW 5 SERIES was sold on a parts only-ny. The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

How far is this BMW 5 SERIES from an export port?

The lot sat at IAAI in SC - MEDFORD. The nearest major vehicle export port is Charleston, roughly 130 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

What does "NOT RUN" mean on this listing?

NOT RUN is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 BMW 5 SERIES. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Is 130,650 miles high for a 2017 BMW 5 SERIES?

Comparable 2017 BMW 5 SERIES listings at auction averaged 95,405 miles across 1006 sales, so at 130,650 miles this one sits 37% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

This 2017 BMW 530i xDrive, finished in a striking blue, showcased its elegance and performance pedigree prior to its sale at auction. Powered by a robust 2.0L I-4 turbo engine, it generated an impressive 248HP, providing a dynamic driving experience. The automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system ensured superior handling and stability, even in challenging conditions. However, the vehicle presented with notable undercarriage damage, which rendered it non-operational at the time of sale. The auction concluded on October 16, 2024, with a final sale price of $4,500, reflecting its damaged state and the ongoing demand for quality BMW vehicles. Overall, this auction highlighted a combination of advanced engineering and the allure of the BMW brand, even in a compromised condition.
