Question 1

What does a salvage-nj mean for this BMW 5 SERIES?

Accepted Answer

This 2015 BMW 5 SERIES was sold on a salvage-nj. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 2

How far is this BMW 5 SERIES from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NJ - PORT MURRAY. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 30 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 3

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2015 BMW 5 SERIES. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 4

Is 91,923 miles high for a 2015 BMW 5 SERIES?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2015 BMW 5 SERIES listings at auction averaged 104,247 miles across 22 sales, so at 91,923 miles this one sits 12% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Who sold this 2015 BMW 5 SERIES?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was CURE AUTO INSURANCE - ACH. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.

Question 6

Did this 2015 BMW 5 SERIES come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with front end damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.
