Question 1

Was $3,500 a good price for this 2018 BMW 4ER?

Accepted Answer

1006 comparable 2018 BMW 4ER listings sold at auction for a median of $6,000, spanning $3,550 to $10,250. At $3,500 this one went 42% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

What does a non-repairable mean for this BMW 4ER?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 BMW 4ER was sold on a non-repairable. That is the most restrictive category: in most US states the vehicle cannot be retitled for road use and is intended for parts or export only. Import rules vary by country, so check locally before bidding.

Question 3

How far is this BMW 4ER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NC - CHARLOTTE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Charleston, roughly 280 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$325, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

Is 107,729 miles high for a 2018 BMW 4ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 BMW 4ER listings at auction averaged 85,267 miles across 1006 sales, so at 107,729 miles this one sits 26% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 BMW 4ER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Who sold this 2018 BMW 4ER?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was PROGRESSIVE. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.
