Question 1

What do front & rear 2016 BMW 4ER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 10 recorded sales of the 2016 BMW 4ER with front & rear damage, the median was $4,200, from $3,100 to $6,750. That is 11% below the $4,700 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,900 a good price for this 2016 BMW 4ER?

Accepted Answer

719 comparable 2016 BMW 4ER listings sold at auction for a median of $4,700, spanning $3,300 to $7,500. At $3,900 this one went 17% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How far is this BMW 4ER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in CA - FONTANA. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 BMW 4ER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 127,085 miles high for a 2016 BMW 4ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 BMW 4ER listings at auction averaged 90,974 miles across 719 sales, so at 127,085 miles this one sits 40% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

Who sold this 2016 BMW 4ER?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was PROGRESSIVE. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.
