Question 1

What do water/flood 2016 BMW 4 SERIES models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 21 recorded sales of the 2016 BMW 4 SERIES with water/flood damage, the median was $3,825, from $3,200 to $5,700. That is 19% below the $4,700 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,950 a good price for this 2016 BMW 4 SERIES?

Accepted Answer

699 comparable 2016 BMW 4 SERIES listings sold at auction for a median of $4,700, spanning $3,300 to $7,500. At $3,950 this one went 16% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW 4 SERIES sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 BMW 4 SERIES's pre-damage retail value at $10,885. It sold for $3,950 — 64% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this BMW 4 SERIES from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in SC - HARLEYVILLE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Charleston, roughly 130 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a cert of title-salvage water mean for this BMW 4 SERIES?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 BMW 4 SERIES was sold on a cert of title-salvage water. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 149,777 miles high for a 2016 BMW 4 SERIES?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 BMW 4 SERIES listings at auction averaged 90,951 miles across 699 sales, so at 149,777 miles this one sits 65% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
