Question 1

What do water/flood 2017 BMW 3ER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 21 recorded sales of the 2017 BMW 3ER with water/flood damage, the median was $4,325, from $3,100 to $6,500. That is 6% below the $4,600 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,600 a good price for this 2017 BMW 3ER?

Accepted Answer

1237 comparable 2017 BMW 3ER listings sold at auction for a median of $4,600, spanning $3,250 to $7,900. At $5,600 this one went 22% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW 3ER sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 BMW 3ER's pre-damage retail value at $11,835. It sold for $5,600 — 53% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this BMW 3ER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in NC - MEBANE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Charleston, roughly 280 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$325, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 BMW 3ER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 104,582 miles high for a 2017 BMW 3ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 BMW 3ER listings at auction averaged 91,581 miles across 1237 sales, so at 104,582 miles this one sits 14% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
