Question 1

What do hail 2017 BMW 3ER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 19 recorded sales of the 2017 BMW 3ER with hail damage, the median was $5,150, from $3,050 to $7,300. That is 12% above the $4,600 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,800 a good price for this 2017 BMW 3ER?

Accepted Answer

1245 comparable 2017 BMW 3ER listings sold at auction for a median of $4,600, spanning $3,250 to $7,900. At $3,800 this one went 17% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this BMW 3ER sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 BMW 3ER's pre-damage retail value at $11,518. It sold for $3,800 — 67% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a clean title mean for this BMW 3ER?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 BMW 3ER was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 5

Is 87,677 miles high for a 2017 BMW 3ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 BMW 3ER listings at auction averaged 91,661 miles across 1245 sales, so at 87,677 miles this one sits 4% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this BMW 3ER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in TX - TEMPLE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
