Question 1

This BMW 3ER sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 2

What does a salvage title mean for this BMW 3ER?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 BMW 3ER was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 3

How far is this BMW 3ER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - BAKERSFIELD. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 BMW 3ER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 71,761 miles high for a 2016 BMW 3ER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 BMW 3ER listings at auction averaged 92,579 miles across 1065 sales, so at 71,761 miles this one sits 22% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN WBA8E9G56GNT42718?

Accepted Answer

WBA8E9G56GNT42718 identifies this specific 2016 BMW 3ER in grey with a 2.0l 4 engine, rear wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.
