Question 1

What do front end 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 236 recorded sales of the 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT with front end damage, the median was $4,100, from $3,125 to $6,100. That is 4% below the $4,250 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,200 a good price for this 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

516 comparable 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings sold at auction for a median of $4,250, spanning $3,200 to $6,300. At $3,200 this one went 25% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a salvage mean for this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

This 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in IN - INDIANAPOLIS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 600 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $500-$725, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 94,841 miles high for a 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings at auction averaged 77,605 miles across 516 sales, so at 94,841 miles this one sits 22% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
