Question 1

This VOLKSWAGEN GOLF sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 2

What does a cert of title-salvage mean for this VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF was sold on a cert of title-salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 3

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN GOLF from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in GA - LOGANVILLE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Savannah, roughly 250 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $300-$450, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

Is 81,611 miles high for a 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF listings at auction averaged 89,423 miles across 123 sales, so at 81,611 miles this one sits 9% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Who sold this 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was GEICO. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.

Question 6

Can I buy this 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF from AutoBidCar?

Accepted Answer

No. AutoBidCar is an archive of past auction listings, not a seller — we have never owned this vehicle. This 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF was listed at COPART as lot 59748744 and any sale happened there. We publish the record so buyers can research what comparable vehicles actually sold for.
