Question 1

Was $5,000 a good price for this 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

24 comparable 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings sold at auction for a median of $4,800, spanning $4,000 to $7,250. At $5,000 this one went 4% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS's pre-damage retail value at $11,424. It sold for $5,000 — 56% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

What does a cert of salvage-flood damage mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

This 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS was sold on a cert of salvage-flood damage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in DC - WASHINGTON DC. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 40 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 69,298 miles high for a 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings at auction averaged 100,930 miles across 24 sales, so at 69,298 miles this one sits 31% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
