Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 43 recorded sales of the 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $5,700, from $4,050 to $7,500. That is 18% above the $4,850 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $6,100 a good price for this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

930 comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings sold at auction for a median of $4,850, spanning $3,350 to $7,575. At $6,100 this one went 26% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in TX - HOUSTON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS's pre-damage retail value at $14,265. It sold for $6,100 — 57% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 6

Is 146,800 miles high for a 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings at auction averaged 97,425 miles across 930 sales, so at 146,800 miles this one sits 51% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
