Question 1

What do front end 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 113 recorded sales of the 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS with front end damage, the median was $4,825, from $4,150 to $6,800. That is 9% below the $5,300 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,300 a good price for this 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

246 comparable 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings sold at auction for a median of $5,300, spanning $4,200 to $7,500. At $4,300 this one went 19% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS's pre-damage retail value at $9,250. It sold for $4,300 — 54% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a cert of title-salvage mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

This 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS was sold on a cert of title-salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 228,947 miles high for a 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings at auction averaged 99,924 miles across 246 sales, so at 228,947 miles this one sits 129% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
