Question 1

Was $3,150 a good price for this 2018 LEXUS GS?

Accepted Answer

125 comparable 2018 LEXUS GS listings sold at auction for a median of $9,363, spanning $5,000 to $13,300. At $3,150 this one went 66% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This LEXUS GS sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this LEXUS GS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 LEXUS GS's pre-damage retail value at $26,758. It sold for $3,150 — 88% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a clean title mean for this LEXUS GS?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 LEXUS GS was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 5

How far is this LEXUS GS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - SUN VALLEY. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN JTHBZ1BL9JA013884?

Accepted Answer

JTHBZ1BL9JA013884 identifies this specific 2018 LEXUS GS in charcoal with a 3.5l 6 engine, rear wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.
