Question 1

Was $14,400 a good price for this 2022 LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

791 comparable 2022 LEXUS ES listings sold at auction for a median of $14,500, spanning $8,200 to $20,400. At $14,400 this one went 1% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This LEXUS ES sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this LEXUS ES sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2022 LEXUS ES's pre-damage retail value at $29,400. It sold for $14,400 — 51% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this LEXUS ES from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in TN - LEBANON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Savannah, roughly 400 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $350-$475, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a clean title mean for this LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

This 2022 LEXUS ES was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 6

Is 42,516 miles high for a 2022 LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2022 LEXUS ES listings at auction averaged 53,750 miles across 791 sales, so at 42,516 miles this one sits 21% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
