Question 1

What do rear end 2017 KIA SPORTAGE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 117 recorded sales of the 2017 KIA SPORTAGE with rear end damage, the median was $3,650, from $3,100 to $4,600. That is 3% above the $3,550 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,100 a good price for this 2017 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

1392 comparable 2017 KIA SPORTAGE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,550, spanning $3,050 to $4,625. At $3,100 this one went 13% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA SPORTAGE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 KIA SPORTAGE's pre-damage retail value at $10,186. It sold for $3,100 — 70% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a salvage certificate mean for this KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 KIA SPORTAGE was sold on a salvage certificate. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

This KIA SPORTAGE has rear end and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 119,885 miles high for a 2017 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 KIA SPORTAGE listings at auction averaged 98,180 miles across 1392 sales, so at 119,885 miles this one sits 22% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
