Question 1

What do hail 2017 KIA NIRO models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 13 recorded sales of the 2017 KIA NIRO with hail damage, the median was $4,800, from $3,600 to $5,500. That is 25% above the $3,850 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,800 a good price for this 2017 KIA NIRO?

Accepted Answer

407 comparable 2017 KIA NIRO listings sold at auction for a median of $3,850, spanning $3,100 to $5,300. At $4,800 this one went 25% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA NIRO sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 KIA NIRO's pre-damage retail value at $13,197. It sold for $4,800 — 64% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 KIA NIRO. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this KIA NIRO?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 KIA NIRO was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 55,383 miles high for a 2017 KIA NIRO?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 KIA NIRO listings at auction averaged 103,282 miles across 407 sales, so at 55,383 miles this one sits 46% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
