Question 1

What do rear end 2016 FORD EXPLORER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 318 recorded sales of the 2016 FORD EXPLORER with rear end damage, the median was $3,800, from $3,100 to $5,300. That is level with the $3,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,600 a good price for this 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

2567 comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings sold at auction for a median of $3,800, spanning $3,100 to $5,600. At $3,600 this one went 5% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD EXPLORER sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 FORD EXPLORER's pre-damage retail value at $11,763. It sold for $3,600 — 69% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

This FORD EXPLORER has rear end and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

Is 95,412 miles high for a 2016 FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 FORD EXPLORER listings at auction averaged 118,445 miles across 2567 sales, so at 95,412 miles this one sits 19% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does a salvage title mean for this FORD EXPLORER?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 FORD EXPLORER was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.
