Question 1

Was $6,100 a good price for this 2014 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

54 comparable 2014 FORD ESCAPE listings sold at auction for a median of $4,600, spanning $4,000 to $6,800. At $6,100 this one went 33% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this FORD ESCAPE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2014 FORD ESCAPE's pre-damage retail value at $15,527. It sold for $6,100 — 61% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

How far is this FORD ESCAPE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in MT - BILLINGS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Tacoma, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2014 FORD ESCAPE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 89,811 miles high for a 2014 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2014 FORD ESCAPE listings at auction averaged 94,799 miles across 54 sales, so at 89,811 miles this one sits 5% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

This FORD ESCAPE has side and mechanical damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
