Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2018 FORD ESCAPE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 166 recorded sales of the 2018 FORD ESCAPE with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $3,850, from $3,150 to $5,800. That is level with the $3,850 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,000 a good price for this 2018 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

2037 comparable 2018 FORD ESCAPE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,850, spanning $3,050 to $6,900. At $5,000 this one went 30% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a cert of title or salvage acq (p) mean for this FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 FORD ESCAPE was sold on a cert of title or salvage acq (p). A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 FORD ESCAPE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this FORD ESCAPE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - SAN BERNARDINO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 97,040 miles high for a 2018 FORD ESCAPE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 FORD ESCAPE listings at auction averaged 72,765 miles across 2037 sales, so at 97,040 miles this one sits 33% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
