Question 1

What do mechanical 2017 VOLVO XC90 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 27 recorded sales of the 2017 VOLVO XC90 with mechanical damage, the median was $5,900, from $4,000 to $8,200. That is 14% below the $6,900 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $7,600 a good price for this 2017 VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

761 comparable 2017 VOLVO XC90 listings sold at auction for a median of $6,900, spanning $4,050 to $11,200. At $7,600 this one went 10% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLVO XC90 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 VOLVO XC90's pre-damage retail value at $9,620. It sold for $7,600 — 21% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this VOLVO XC90 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in MN - BLAINE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 1,100 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $725-$1,050, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

This VOLVO XC90 has mechanical and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 92,645 miles high for a 2017 VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLVO XC90 listings at auction averaged 114,708 miles across 761 sales, so at 92,645 miles this one sits 19% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
