Question 1

What do water/flood 2017 VOLVO XC90 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 26 recorded sales of the 2017 VOLVO XC90 with water/flood damage, the median was $6,700, from $4,100 to $8,800. That is 4% below the $7,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,500 a good price for this 2017 VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

753 comparable 2017 VOLVO XC90 listings sold at auction for a median of $7,000, spanning $4,050 to $11,300. At $5,500 this one went 21% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLVO XC90 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 VOLVO XC90's pre-damage retail value at $18,473. It sold for $5,500 — 70% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this VOLVO XC90 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in LA - SHREVEPORT. The nearest major vehicle export port is New Orleans, roughly 130 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 VOLVO XC90 was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Who sold this 2017 VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was GEICO. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.
