Question 1

What do mechanical 2016 VOLVO XC90 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 87 recorded sales of the 2016 VOLVO XC90 with mechanical damage, the median was $5,400, from $3,850 to $8,000. That is 13% below the $6,200 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $6,200 a good price for this 2016 VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

1505 comparable 2016 VOLVO XC90 listings sold at auction for a median of $6,200, spanning $3,850 to $9,550. At $6,200 this one went exactly at that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLVO XC90 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 VOLVO XC90's pre-damage retail value at $15,925. It sold for $6,200 — 61% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this VOLVO XC90 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - HAYWARD. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a clean title mean for this VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 VOLVO XC90 was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 6

Is 121,665 miles high for a 2016 VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 VOLVO XC90 listings at auction averaged 123,282 miles across 1505 sales, so at 121,665 miles this one sits 1% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
