Question 1

What do mechanical 2016 VOLVO XC90 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 87 recorded sales of the 2016 VOLVO XC90 with mechanical damage, the median was $5,400, from $3,850 to $8,100. That is 14% below the $6,300 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,150 a good price for this 2016 VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

1483 comparable 2016 VOLVO XC90 listings sold at auction for a median of $6,300, spanning $3,850 to $9,700. At $3,150 this one went 50% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLVO XC90 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 VOLVO XC90's pre-damage retail value at $9,912. It sold for $3,150 — 68% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a salvage title mean for this VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 VOLVO XC90 was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

This VOLVO XC90 has mechanical and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 146,770 miles high for a 2016 VOLVO XC90?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 VOLVO XC90 listings at auction averaged 122,737 miles across 1483 sales, so at 146,770 miles this one sits 20% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
