Question 1

What do water/flood 2020 VOLVO XC40 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 12 recorded sales of the 2020 VOLVO XC40 with water/flood damage, the median was $6,300, from $5,200 to $7,000. That is 9% below the $6,925 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $6,800 a good price for this 2020 VOLVO XC40?

Accepted Answer

299 comparable 2020 VOLVO XC40 listings sold at auction for a median of $6,925, spanning $4,150 to $11,200. At $6,800 this one went 2% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLVO XC40 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2020 VOLVO XC40's pre-damage retail value at $23,575. It sold for $6,800 — 71% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this VOLVO XC40 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in NY - CENTRAL SQUARE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 160 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this VOLVO XC40?

Accepted Answer

This 2020 VOLVO XC40 was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 52,954 miles high for a 2020 VOLVO XC40?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 VOLVO XC40 listings at auction averaged 61,219 miles across 299 sales, so at 52,954 miles this one sits 14% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
