Question 1

Was $6,800 a good price for this 2017 VOLVO S60?

Accepted Answer

79 comparable 2017 VOLVO S60 listings sold at auction for a median of $3,625, spanning $3,050 to $5,400. At $6,800 this one went 88% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLVO S60 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 VOLVO S60's pre-damage retail value at $18,443. It sold for $6,800 — 63% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

What does a salvage title mean for this VOLVO S60?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 VOLVO S60 was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

Is 51,115 miles high for a 2017 VOLVO S60?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLVO S60 listings at auction averaged 75,207 miles across 79 sales, so at 51,115 miles this one sits 32% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

How far is this VOLVO S60 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in IL - CAHOKIA HEIGHTS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 VOLVO S60. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
