Question 1

What do front end 2017 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 34 recorded sales of the 2017 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG with front end damage, the median was $5,100, from $3,300 to $7,200. That is 6% above the $4,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

What does a clear mean for this VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 3

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in TX - JUSTIN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 79,618 miles high for a 2017 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG listings at auction averaged 89,803 miles across 77 sales, so at 79,618 miles this one sits 11% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

Who sold this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was PROGRESSIVE. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.
